Among 29 other barangays in Pasig City, Barangay San Antonio is hailed as Grand Winner of this year's Sustainable Urban Gardening Contest. A proof of a thriving ecosystem amidst city life, BSA Organic Urban Garden stands out with its organic fresh produce, honey farm, mushroom farm, and waste composting.
The competition also highlights our garden's remarkable sustainability. With the products sold to the public at reasonable prices, the proceeds of the sales have become the revolving fund for its operating expenses.
Kap. Thomas Raymond Lising lauds the award-winning urban garden as an avenue for the community to work together and to be involved in something meaningful. Primarily maintained by resident gardeners, BSA Organic Urban Garden has also gained the full support of the Barangay Council, different civil society organizations, and our constituents. This one-of-a-kind food security program is the fruit of concerted efforts and a testimony of teamwork and hardwork within the community.
Amidst the pandemic, this special recognition has made us truly #proudtobeBSA! Congratulations on our achievement, Barangay San Antonio Pasig City!
